So here is the deal…
It’s the 4th of the July, and I’m on Tumblr.
Why? Because I’m sitting here, with a once popular blog, wondering where do things go astray.
The fact of the matter is, the indie music review business has basically been monopolized by Pitchfork. It’s an amazing site which grows by the day. Their ratings have been deemed the last word, sort of speak.
That being said, what are we missing? What do we need?
One thing that I cannot seem to find is just a nice place to TALK about music. To share music. New music. Old music. To totally destroy certain music. To lift some up to the sky in praise.
What I dream of is a music community. A place where opinions and tastes blossom. Can this be that place? Can you be those opinions?
MYSH should be running 24/7; by multiple people; all over the damn world. Every person is in control. Think of it as a music television station. With no ads, no fees.
This is my dream, which I would love to see slowly develop. Tell me your thoughts. If you want to be a part of this, let’s do it. Let’s do it today. The only way this is possible is if we all contribute. It’s a push and pull system.
Be a part of something while it is happening.
